Smaller and lighter than the typical badge, the low light, black and white camera  and its integral microphone are housed in a weather resistant, nearly indestructible casing. The camera can easily be secured to the shirt center line with a button attachment or placed on other areas of clothing.  When leaving the vehicle, the officer simply activates the battery-powered camera, microphone and transmitter with the flip of a single switch.

Since the camera is not stationary, the officer is able to directly control its field of view. No longer are you limited to a stationary camera system which forces the officer to try to be positioned so that a critical action will be caught on video.  The COPCAM goes where the officer goes,  NOT where the cruiser goes. With the COPCAM system the action is caught on Video each time, every time, because it is the officer who catches the action.  Recordings are no longer restricted to the fixed field of a camera mounted in a parked vehicle, the range of the COPCAM is as far as one-quarter mile from the receiving unit.

The applications of this system are nearly limitless, some of  which include:  recording accident scenes and witness statements; conducting hands-free gathering of evidence; sobriety testing, and word-for-word witness accounts.  Recording a fleeing criminal or combative suspect is made easy by simply activating a transmitter unit no larger than a standard police walkie-talkie. No longer will unfounded accusations of police misconduct by intoxicated motorists be a problem. Now, eyewitness accounts can be permanently recorded for later use by officers, detectives and supervisors. COPCAMTM
The COPCAM  In-Car Camera Option gives you all the advantages of a traditional in-car camera system with the added flexibility and versatility of body-worn audio and video.

The In-Car Option is designed to help document pursuits and the initial stages of a traffic stop.  Operation is simple. When in the patrol car, the officer turns the camera system on via the Video Controller ( or the emergency lights controller). While exiting the patrol car he/she turns on the body-worn camera/transmitter unit. The video is automatically switched from the in-car camera to the body-worn camera and microphone. It's that easy!
